Addison Lynch enters his third season with the Denver Broncos and first as cornerbacks coach in 2025. He was hired by the club on March 25, 2023.

With 14 cumulative years of coaching experience—including seven in the NFL—Lynch previously worked for Detroit (2022), Las Vegas (2021), L.A. Chargers (2018-20), Florida State (2012-17) and Mississippi College (2011).

With 14 cumulative years of coaching experience—including seven in the NFL—Lynch previously worked for Detroit (2022), Las Vegas (2021), L.A. Chargers (2018-20), Florida State (2012-17) and Mississippi College (2011).

Since Lynch's arrival in Denver in 2023, the Broncos have totaled 26 interceptions—the 13^th-most in the league—while also totaling the seventh-most games allowing no passing touchdowns (8). Additionally, Denver has totaled 15 games with multiple takeaways, which is tied for the ninth most in the NFL in that span.

In 2024, cornerback Pat Surtain II allowed the fewest passing yards (306) and second-lowest passer rating when targeted (59.1) among cornerbacks with at least 375 coverage snaps per NextGen Stats to win Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press. As a team, the Broncos allowed the sixth-fewest passing touchdowns (22), touchdown to interception ratio (1.5) and passer rating against (86.2) among all NFL teams.

With the assistance of Lynch, Denver also posted its first winning season in eight years in 2024 as well as its first playoff appearance since the 2015 season.

In 2023, Denver's defense led a midseason turnaround that included forcing 16 turnovers—nine of which were caused by the secondary—during their five-game winning streak from Week 7-12. The defense also ranked near the top of the league in multiple categories from Week 7 through the end of the year, including completion percentage (61.8, 8^th), interceptions (7, T-8^th) and net passing yards (2,364, 10^th).

Lynch assisted with the development of a secondary that included Pro Bowlers in cornerback Pat Surtain II and safety Justin Simmons, both of whom made the All-Star game for the second time in their careers. Simmons was also voted Associated Press second-team All-Pro after totaling 70 tackles (53 solo), one sacks (15 yds.), three interceptions (39 yds.) two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

As a defensive quality control coach for the Lions in 2022, Lynch helped Detroit total its most wins (9) since the 2017 season. Over the final 10 weeks of the regular season, the Lions posted the fifth-most interceptions (10) and the 10^th- lowest passer rating against (84.3) in the NFL.

Lynch, who primarily worked with the secondary, helped rookie safety Kerby Joseph total four interceptions, the most in a single season by a Lions rookie since Devon Mitchell (5) in 1986. Safety DeShon Elliott also had a productive year, recording a career-high 95 tackles (71 solo), one interception, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Prior to his year with the Lions, Lynch spent the 2021 season with Las Vegas and worked as assistant defensive backs coach. He helped cornerback Brandon Facyson record his first career interception while also accumulating career-highs in tackles (53) and passes defensed (13).

Lynch also helped safety Jonathan Abram total a career-high five TFLs to go along with 114 tackles (63 solo), one interception (6 yds.), four passes defensed and one fumble recovery. Abram's 114 tackles tied him for fifth-most among all NFL defensive backs.

Beginning his NFL coaching career with the L.A. Chargers in 2018, Lynch spent three seasons with the team, working as a defensive quality control coach (2018-19) and assistant defensive backs coach (2020). During his time in Los Angeles, Lynch helped the Chargers rank sixth in net passing yards allowed (217.3 ypg) and eighth in total yards allowed (330.1 ypg). The team finished Top-10 in both categories in each of his three seasons.

After being promoted to assistant defensive backs coach in 2020, Lynch helped the unit produce the fourth-lowest completion percentage against (62.6) that season. The Chargers surrendered the sixth-fewest completions (340) while ranking ninth in passing yards allowed (223.6 ypg).

Lynch assisted in the development of cornerback Michael Davis in 2020, helping him tally career highs in tackles (63), interceptions (3), interceptions for touchdowns (1) and passes defensed (14). Davis' 14 pass breakups ranked eighth in the NFL.

As a defensive quality control coach for the Chargers from 2018-19, Lynch worked primarily with linebackers, helping the position group with practice drills while also assisting the coaching staff with team presentations and film study for upcoming opponents. Lynch assisted safety Derwin James in his transition from college to the NFL, with James garnering numerous accolades during his rookie season.

Before joining the NFL, Lynch spent six seasons (2012-17) under Head Coach Jimbo Fisher at Florida State, serving as a quality control assistant on offense. He helped the team earn bowl appearances every season while in Tallahassee, including five consecutive New Year's Six Bowls.

During his tenure, Florida State captured the 2013 BCS National Championship after going 14-0 in the regular season and defeating Auburn University, 34-31. The following year, the Seminoles posted a 13-1 mark and earned a spot in the inaugural College Football Playoff.

Lynch began his coaching career in 2011 and worked as a graduate assistant for Mississippi College.

A native of Boston, Mass., Lynch played safety for Bryant University (2007-11) and earned a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. He is married to his wife, Avery.
